M Avery Designs Sewing Studio offers full day in person and half day weeklong Summer Camps for
Kids going into 1st grade to 5th grade.
We're not certain our in person camps going to run for Summer 2020, but if they do, here are all the details.
If they do run, there will be very limited space in order to facilitate social distancing in our studio.
In our sewing camps, your son or daughter will learn skills they cannot learn anywhere else including:
- How to operate a sewing machine independently
- Sewing project design and construction
- Improvement of fine motor skills including learning how to pin & cut fabric, thread needles, hand sewing, sewing using a sewing machine and more.
- Development of their creative muscle in designing sewing projects from start to finish.
- How to read basic sewing patterns and how to follow written & verbal instructions

Each Weekly Summer Camp Session:
- Meets Monday through Friday for either 1/2 day or full day. Please note: We Do not offer daily camps.
- Never repeats a sewing project.
- Always completes 4-5 sewing projects throughout the week
- Is led by competent, experienced sewing instructors
- Breaks for snack about halfway through each 3 hour camp session. Breaks For Snack About Halfway Through Each 3 Hour Camp session.
Half day camp session are from 9am - 12pm & 1-4pm.
Full Day sessions will be from 9am - 4pm and includes supervised BYO lunch & (non-sewing) activities From 12-1pm in the studio. Sewing camp takes place in our creative sewing studios located the Monroe Center in Hoboken NJ
Full day camps (9am - 4pm) $550/week
Half day camps (9am - 12pm or 1-4pm) $350/week

All Supplies are included.
Space is limited. We continue to fill our camp each summer, so be sure to secure your spots early so you don’t miss out.
Due to the seasonal nature of summer programming and the set limitation of spaces offered, no refund shall be provided for absences, changes, withdrawals, or dismissal for cause.
Upon sign up, permission is hereby granted for photographs of the student to be taken. M Avery Designs has the right to utilize these photographs in studio promotional materials, unless parent makes other arrangements.

Week of June 29 - July 3, 2020
Jane Goodall Week:
Sewing projects will include stuffed animals and accessories related to animals.
Week of July 6 - 10, 2020
Greta Thunberg Week :
Sewing projects will include items related reducing waste, reusing items we already have and recycling.
Week of July 13 - 17, 2020
Sylvia Earle Week:
Sewing projects will include stuffed marine animals and marine life, as well as accessories related to marine life.
Week of July 20 - 24, 2020
Mae Jemison Week:
American engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut.
Sewing projects will relate to the theme of exploration, travel & space.
Week of July 27 - 31, 2020
Pleasant Rowland Week:
American educator, reporter, writer, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Rowland is best known for creating the American Girl brand
Sewing projects will include clothing and accessories for 18" dolls, as well as their owners.
Week of August 3 - 7, 2020
Frida Kahlo Week:
Sewing projects will include Mexican themed fashion designs, accessories & art items.
Week of August 10 - 14, 2020
Sewing projects will include music related fashion designs, accessories and art items.
Week of August 17 - 21, 2020
Margaret Hamilton Week:
American computer scientist, renowned software engineer and business owner
Sewing projects will include technology related fashion designs, accessories and home decor items.
Week of August 24 - 28, 2020
Iris Apfel Week:
American businesswoman, interior designer & fashion icon.
Sewing projects will include quirky interior design items and accessories.
On on the 5th floor of the Monroe Center (the building where we are located) provides before care from 8-9am, as well as aftercare from 4-5pm Or 4-6pm each day.
We're happy to pick up and/or drop off kids participating in this.
