Camp Sew Together
Introducing our At Home Summer Sewing Program that can be done anywhere in the world. Our experienced, talented and cheerful sewing instructors, the same ladies you've been sewing with in person for years, will be teaching you important sewing skills on video using fun & practical sewing projects.
Weekly camp sessions start the week of June 1st, 2020 and go until the end of August.
Hand Sewing Camp will teach you how to make stuffies, accessories and home decor items using a needle, thread, embroidery hoop, felt & fabric. Each weekly session of video camp will include our Basic Hand Sewing Starter Kit (value $25) which has everything you'll need to make all the projects. The kit will be delivered or shipped to you prior to your weekly camp session. The kit will also include the patterns and step-by-step instructions for each project in your corresponding camp. Live video Instruction will take place for 1.5 hours on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and will include guidance for continued sewing beyond the live instruction. Each weekly session will include supplies for at least 3 projects. Hand Sewing Camp takes place from 1:30-3pm eastern time until June 30. Starting on June 30 it will take place 9-10:30am eastern time until August 27th. Recommended 2nd graders and up. No prior hand sewing experience is required. Minimal adult participation needed. Please note: Needle threaders will be included with kits, as well as on demand video on how to use it. $120 Per Week.
Sewing Machine Camp will teach you how to make stuffed animals, bags, room decorations, fashion accessories and even clothing using a sewing machine & fabric. Each weekly session will include a supply kit for the supplies specific to the projects for that week (Value $50). The kit will be delivered or shipped to you prior to your weekly camp session. This kit will also include the patterns and step-by-step instructions for each project in your corresponding camp. Live video instruction will take place for 2 hours on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 11am - 1pm eastern time. Live instruction will also include guidance for continued sewing after the live instruction. Each weekly session will include supplies for at least 2 sewing projects. $180 Per Week.
Please note: For the Sewing Machine Camp - You must have your own functioning sewing machine (not a kids machine). It is highly advised that students enrolled are in 2nd grade & up AND have a working knowledge and experience operating a sewing machine on their own.
Private video sewing lessons can be scheduled prior to the camp for a sewing machine refresher. Parents - It's easier than you think for kids to operate a sewing machine on their own. Especially if they've take our class before.
Due to the current sewing machine shortage, we're now selling a limited supply of used sewing machines to our local participants. These machines are in perfect working condition to be used for this camp and can be curb side picked up from our studio in Hoboken. If you don't see any listed, please email us and I can try to help you find a machine.
Enrolled participants will have access to On Demand Videos throughout the weeks you're signed up for camp. These pre-recorded sewing skills videos will demonstrate sewing safety, machine operation, hand sewing skills and other important skills & pointers students will be using over and over throughout your session of video camp.
In order to get your supplies in time, YOU MUST sign up for Camp Sew Together PRIOR to the class.
For local students (Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City & Weehawken) you must sign up by the Sunday before camp starting. Your supplies will be delivered to you on the Monday of your camp week.
For students anywhere else in the US, you must sign up at least 1 week before the camp starts. Supplies will be mailed to you via priority mail so you can get started on Monday of your camp week.
Please note: Siblings must sign up separately for each camp. There is a 20% discount. 2 & 3 siblings can easily share one sewing machine for the sewing machine classes.
