Learn crochet terminology, stitch execution and how to follow a pattern while creating beginner level projects including:
Spiral Scarf, Water Bottle Caddy with flower/leaf detail, Drawstring Granny Square Tote, amigirumi octopi, headbands (or bracelets), butterfly, (and possible other projects if time permits).
Each class will build upon the last, adding new stitches and techniques. Rather than rushed “make and take” lessons that result in disjointed information and poorly executed (if finished) projects, this series provides a complete foundation of knowledge, skills and appropriate projects that enable everyone to continue crocheting independently.
The first class is 3 hours long (learning intensive) and the remaining three classes will be 2 hours long. Students will leave each class with finished projects.
Yarn can be purchased at class for $10 additional (highly suggested). If you bring your own yarn it must be worsted weight. Hooks MUST be purchased on your own, size H (aluminum, Boye, Bates or Wright brand is suggested) and often stores like ACMoore, Joanns and Michaels offer a coupon discount weekly towards one item (which could be used to purchase your hook). Hooks are sold individually and in multipaks. If you purchase a multipak, be sure it includes size H.
Sunday September 9th 1-4pm – The first class is longer because it is learning intensive (stitches/techniques, practice/execution, getting comfortable crocheting) and will include a quick project

Crochet outside of class will be encouraged. The instructor aims to go further than make/take crochet classes that provide “just enough” disjointed information to create rushed, possibly poorly executed (if finished) projects. It is her desire when classes end that everyone will continue crocheting independently.
There are 8 spots per session.
Students should purchase their yarn before the class or fabrics can be purchased at the M Avery Designs Studio.
